Welcome.

There are 582 people in the United States named Ellen Lee. Which one am I?

I’m a freelance journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area. I write mostly about technology, business and parenting, but my pieces have run the gamut, from minority issues to pop culture, from education to health. I’ve traveled to China to report on how the Internet is changing the country. I’ve tracked multi-billion dollar corporate takeover battles. I even auditioned for The Apprentice back when the Donald Trump reality television show was a hit.

For the past few years, I served as a technology reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle. Before that, I covered business and technology for the Contra Costa Times. I’ve also written for the Washington Post, the Oregonian and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Please contact me if you’re looking to hire a writer, pitch a story or be a source.
